Here’s an idea…

How’s about the government just gets out of the whole “marriage” business altogether? This is why separation of church and state is so important.

Here’s what it boils down to, “marriage” is a religious term. Why is the government sactioning “religious” statuses? Instead, how about the government just give “social” statuses, i.e. “civil unions” to everyone, regardless of sex. Then churches can either decide to give or not give the religious sanction of “marriage”.

By doing this you’re giving gays their rights and you’re letting the CHURCH decide what they think should and should not be allowed, as is their right.

Failure to keep this separation of church and state has caused heartache on both sides and lots of wasted tax dollars.
