But it’s still pretty cool. Astra has been in development since 2006 (Vaporware?) and if you remember the internets from back in the day, you know that Trillian was once your go-to all-in-one IM client. With Digsby on the seen along with a host of others, it’s not that special.

Still, it’s fun to check out new software. Contact me if you’d like an invite or just go to this site and sign up yourself, you’ll likely get an immediate invite to the beta as well.

I just downloaded XBMC. I thought that it was only for the old xbox console but apparently they have a version for PC, MAC, and even linux. I have it running on my main rig right now, but I plan on adding it to my media center PC in our bedroom.

So far I’ve gotten it to play, .iso, .avi, and .mkv files which pretty much covers the spectrum of what I have in my video collection. I also like that it automatically downloads the DVD cover and movie infomation from IMDB.
